China Nerin has signed a 500ktpa copper smelting contract for the Kamoa-Kakula Smelter

November 18, 2021, China Nerin Engineering Co., Ltd. and Kamoa Copper S.A., DRC, held a contract signing ceremony for the 500ktpa copper smelting project for the Kamoa-Kakula Smelter. Mr. Robert Friedland, the Founder of Ivanhoe Mines; Chen Jinghe, Chairman of Zijin Mining; Sun Yufeng, Co-Chair of Ivanhoe Mines; Zhou Chao, EVP and Chief Representative, China of Ivanhoe Mines; Zhang Xiaobo, Chairman of China Nerin; and Wu Runhua, General Manager of China Nerin attended the virtual ceremony at Nanchang and the Kamoa-Kakula Mine.

April 28, as the mill thundered, the testrun of key equipment for CMOC Tenke Fungurume Copper-Cobalt Mine Expansion Project (10k) in DRC started successfully, which marked the project construction had achieved its objectives in this stage and would formally move on to the next stage.

Flash Converting Furnace Modification Project for Rio Tinto Kennecott Ultah Copper Smelter in the USA Put into Operation Successfully

Recently, the flash converting furnace modification project for Rio Tinto Kennecott Ultah Copper Smelter designed by China Nerin was put into operation successfully with qualified blister produced. All the technical indicators of the flash converting furnace (FCF) are better than those before the modification. The design targets were met and the project was smoothly accepted by Rio Tinto.

Recently, Jiangxi Association for Science and Technology, Jiangxi Province Human Resources and Social Security Department, Science and Technology Department of Jiangxi Province, and State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of Jiangxi Province jointly issued the “Decision on Commending the Winners of the First Innovation Competition Prize in Jiangxi Province” (GKX Zi No. [2020] 69). China Nerin’s team in researching, developing and applying key pyrometallurgy technologies won the first innovation competition prize (collective) in Jiangxi province.

Successful Commissioning of Dewatering System of the EPC Project for Building Materials Making from Tailings in Chengmenshan

June 1st, under the joint efforts of relevant parties of the project, the tailings dewatering system in China Nerin’s EPC Project for Green Building Materials Making from Copper Tailings in Chengmenshan was commissioned successfully at the first testrun, which once again proves that China Nerin owns mature and reliable technologies in designing tailings dewatering systems. The project lays a solid foundation for China Nerin to widely promote and apply such green environment protection technology.

Copper and cobalt are successfully produced from RTR Copper-Cobalt Mine Phase 2 Project in DRC

April 25th, RTR Copper-Cobalt Mine Phase 2 Project in DRC designed and partially supplied by China Nerin was successfully put into operation. LME A cathode copper and cobalt hydroxide (cobalt grade at 35%) have been produced.
